Lifeguard Training
THE AMERICAN RED CROSS CERTIFIED LIFEGUARD TRAINING TAKES PLACE ON ONE WEEKEND, USUALLY FRIDAY EVENING, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. THE CLASS IS COMPRISED OF 20 HOURS OF TRAINING.
PLEASE NOTE THE COURSE SWIMMING REQUIREMENTS.
Students with limited swimming ability can earn a Shallow Water Lifeguard Certificate with easier swim prerequisites. Shallow water lifeguards work at pools less than 5 feet deep. Many of the hotel pools are shallow water pools. Lifeguard Staff has a NO REFUND POLICY. Students must meet the Red Cross course requirements. Students may return to a subsequent class one time to complete the course requirements.

We offer a Traditional Learning Class (times are listed below).
We sometimes offer a Blended Learning Class and students complete on-line learning modules before coming to class. For these classes, please print out your completion certificate or take a picture of it and bring it to class.
Session #1 - Friday: 3:30 PM - 9:30 PM Introduction, Overview of Lifeguard Duties
Session #2 - Saturday: 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM Lifesaving Skills & Techniques in the Pool
Session #3 - Sunday: 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM CPR, AED & First Aid Training, Written Test (passing is 80%)
Upon successful completion, a Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Card will be issued to the student. The fee for the class is $180.00. Re-certification is $150. There is also a $10 CPR pocket mask fee for all lifeguards. Class sizes are limited. We refer you to the hotels hiring with some positions offering between $14 - $17 per hour.
Class Location: Classes are usually held in the Henderson or Summerlin area at various recreation centers or community/private pools.
